Xaris Dance Company is a professional contemporary dance
company based in Kassel in Germany. It has a growing reputation
for exciting choreography that borrows from a variety of dance
styles and tackles subjects from the humorous to the profound.
The company was founded in 1996 by Jim
and Anne Mills, as a Creative Arts Europe initiative,
and is now under the direction of Loreen Fajgel.
The Word 'Xaris' is Greek for 'Gift' or 'Benefit', and reflects
one of the company's primary aims - to raise money for various
charities and humanitarian causes from the proceeds of the
annual Spring tour. In addition to the tour, Xaris receives
a growing number of invitations to perform at festivals and
other events throughout Europe and the USA, and to give workshops
in conjunction with Creative Arts Europe.
